Let’s be honest, as a mom of two under five, this charming little crossbody is not realistic for carrying all the things I need most days, especially weekdays, between hustle and bustle of drop-off, pick-up, daycare, swim lessons, ballet practice, grocery runs and work. It’s a real jungle out there, and I certainly need a bag the size of The Amazon to hold everything, but this bag I’m sharing with you today certainly works for date night and errand-running on weekends! Size aside, we’re here to talk color, so here are my thoughts on the most versatile and wearable handbag hue, pinkish taupe.
Handbags are a fantastic way to add character to a look. The question is, who has the time or desire to be fussing with multiple bags during the week? I think it’s safe to say we’re all searching for that one good bag to take us through a solid week, at the very minimum. That said, it’s difficult in my opinion to commit to such an extreme color as black to wear every day because of its limitations and downright uninteresting appearance. We inevitably resort to then brown or beige for our everyday choice, we all do. But I’m here to tell you beige doesn’t have to be boring! Opt for a pinkish taupe instead, like the one I’m donning here. While wearing a bag from the taupe family may feel boring to some, this is your everyday bag and has to complement all of your looks. You want to make sure it stands apart from your outfit, without standing out. Yes, you can certainly make it special if you so desire; that is, if there is going to be a bag you splurge on, let this everyday bag be the one. If you don’t care to spend on a luxury bag, and you’d rather go all in on a deal (like myself!) then that’s ok, too. What’s important is that you like your bag. This pinkish taupe is oozing with promise and versatility—it’s sure to pair well with your browns, neutrals, florals, stripes, denim, and even blacks.
Last bit of advice before you leave for your pinkish taupe hunt, especially for the mothers making moves all day with their little ones, make sure your bag has a shoulder strap if possible. Being defeated by your purse isn’t chic nor effective; being able to navigate your way through the day with both hands definitely is.
